World’s Tallest Waterslide Is Almost As High As Niagara Falls
Who’s down for a road trip to Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City this summer? Why KC? Because it’s home to the world’s tallest and fastest waterslide, the Verrückt Meg-a-Blaster.
The Verrückt (which translated means “Insane”) is a ride that’s perfect for adrenaline junkies like me. It’s taller than Niagara Falls, taller than the Statue of Liberty from her toes to the torch, and twice the height of the tallest wave ever surfed. You pretty much have to be insane to ride it, hence the name.
Once you climb all 264 steps to the top, you’ll board a four person raft for the thrill ride of a lifetime, as you plunge down a death-defying drop at speeds of more than 65mph. At the bottom of that initial plummet, you’ll confront a five-story hill, which you’ll be propelled up and over that hill for the final descent to the ride’s finish.
Those brave or crazy enough to try the ride will have to wait until the park opens on May 23rd.
Here’s a video of what’s in store for you:
Pretty awesome, right?
