Why All The Drama Surrounding Palcohol?

Palcohol

Over the past few days, there have been numerous news stories about Palcohol, a powered alcohol product that was “mistakenly” approved by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. Many of these so-called “journalists” have been reporting that the TTB inadvertently approved this product, and now they’re trying to change their stance on it. But according to Palcohol, the issue with the TTB revolves around a labeling issue, and the company said they will be submitting new labels shortly.

Whatever the case, this story has sparked a nationwide debate over the merits of Palcohol, and I thought I’d chime in with my two cents.

So first off, if you’re unfamiliar with Palcohol, it’s basically a powder version of vodka, rum and four cocktails.. with the same alcoholic content. Simply add water to it, and voila, instant alcohol! It’s perfect for active guys on the go who don’t want to lug around heavy bottles, but still want to enjoy a refreshing adult beverage.

In addition, there’s another lucrative market for Palcohol – Sporting events, concerts, and any other venues where the gouge you to death on alcohol. Rather than spend $9 or more on a drink, simply slip a few packets of Palcohol into your pocket before going out, and then buy a bottle of water from the concession stand for a fraction of the price.

But hey, why stop there? Rather than trying to sneak alcohol onto a cruise ship (you know, because drinks on board the ship cost a fortune), you can simply pack Palcohol in your luggage and not have to worry anymore about weight, breakage, or detection.

Overall, I think Palcohol is a genius idea, and I hope the company gets their issues with the TTB sorted out so us consumers can start enjoying it, while sticking it to the man. Who’s with me?
