Who’s Brave Enough To Go Zip Lining Across The Grand Canyon?
If you’re an adrenaline junkie looking to get your next fix, The Zip Line at Grand Canyon West has got your name written all over it. As the name suggests, this heart-pounding experience has you soaring nearly 1,000 feet above the Grand Canyon, giving you a bird’s eye view of this natural wonder while you wiz by at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour.
The attraction consists of two “quad ziplines”, each configured with four steel cables running side-by-side in parallel formation, to allow groups to soar together. The first of the two lines measures about 1,100 feet in length. The second line, set at a steeper grade, propels you on the 2,100-foot-long downhill adventure of a lifetime, complete with views of nearby Quartermaster Canyon and rushing scenery above and below.
Just check out this little teaser clip from Grand Canyon West:
“We’re taking the West Rim to a new level of excitement. The zip line at Grand Canyon West gives our guests a unique adrenaline surge that will be one of the longest and most exciting zip lines found anywhere in the world,” Candida Hunter, chairwoman of the Grand Canyon Resort Corporation Board of Directors, said in a statement.”
The Zipline At Grand Canyon West sounds like one heck of a wild ride, and at $89 a person, it is reasonably priced to boot! The next time I’m visiting Vegas, I might have to take a little detour and check it out.
Those looking for even more adventure can take a walk on the nearby Grand Canyon Skywalk, the 10-foot-wide, horseshoe-shaped glass bridge extends 70 feet out over the rim of the Canyon. Look down and you can see right through the glass platform 4,000 feet to the floor of the Canyon below.
So what do you say, who’s ready to go zip lining across the Grand Canyon?
