Who Wants To Spend The Night In The Real-Life ‘Home Alone’ House?
This holiday season, Home Alone fanatics will have a chance to make their dreams come true with an overnight stay at the iconic Chicago-area house from the original Home Alone movie. The folks at Airbnb announced this one-of-a-kind booking experience this week, with Kevin McCallister’s tarantula-loving older brother Buzz serving as the host.
That’s right people, the McCallisters are away on their annual trip, giving four lucky guests the opportunity to relive their favorite scenes from the holiday classic and let their inner 8-year-olds run free for the evening without the interruption of pesky intruders.
Your night home alone in the McCallister house includes a cozy holiday scene with twinkling lights and a perfectly trimmed tree in celebration of the season, booby traps galore (but don’t worry, you’ll be setting them, not sidestepping them), all the ’90s favorites your hearts desire, including plenty of Chicago’s finest pizza and a candlelit dinner of microwavable Kraft Mac & Cheese, “a meet and greet with a real-life tarantula,” and a Lego Home Alone set to take and build at home.
In addition, you can enjoy a viewing of the film franchise’s reboot, Home Sweet Home Alone, which is available on Disney+. But be forewarned, the reviews are pretty brutal, so maybe use that time for something else instead, like shaving, slapping some aftershave on your face, and then running around the house screaming like Kevin. 🙂
Amazingly, booking the Home Alone house will only set you back $25, which is cheaper than pretty much anything you’re going to find on Airbnb. But there’s a catch, and that’s that the house is available for just one night on December 12, so you know there’s going to be a mad rush to score this sweet booking. If I lived near Chicago, I’d be all over this, as Home Alone is one of my favorite movies!
Mischief makers can request to book this stay beginning Tuesday, December 7 at 1:00 PM CT at airbnb.com/homealone.
