What I’m Listening To – 9/20/11

I’ll admit, there’s no real rhyme or reason to this week’s picks.. They’re just a random group of songs that caught my ear for one reason or another. In any event, I think you’ll like ’em!

California Soul – Marlena Shaw Feat. Ya Boy

I heard this song during The Lincoln Lawyer and was like WOW! It’s what made the music of the 70s so great, with a modern twist courtesy of Ya Boy. It’s a popular tune, and it was also used in The Italian Job, commercials for Dockers and Target, and some other things.

LMFAO – Party Rock Anthem ft. Lauren Bennett, GoonRock

I actually featured this song back in May, but it’s back on my radar thanks to that infectious commercial for the Kia Soul. Heck, I was at a wedding over the weekend, and a girl at the table just blurted out “Everyday I’m Shuffling” out of nowhere. ‘Nuff said. 🙂

Tinie Tempah – Till I’m Gone ft. Wiz Khalifa

Tinie Tempah bought the first pair of Air Mags for over $37K! Here’s hoping he doesn’t become the next MC Hammer with his finances. Tempah’s best known for his hit Written In The Stars, but this is a hot track as well!
