What I’m Listening To – 5/17/11
This week, we’re taking a trip back to the 80s and paying tribute to the band Survivor. Many of our readers weren’t even born in the 80s, so some of this might be new to you. 🙂
Survivor – Burning Heart
It’s been 25 years since that famous fight in Rocky IV with Rocky Balboa vs Ivan Drago. Yet the song stands the test of time, as evident by the fact that MTV played this song during the credits of Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory last night.
Survivor – Eye Of The Tiger
When you think of the Rocky movies, you inevitably hear the Eye of The Tiger theme song in your head. The song has been used in countless fight sequences in movies and TV shows, and have probably made the band tens of millions in residuals over the years. There’s just something about this song that makes you want to go out and kick someone’s ass!
Survivor – High On You
Reminiscent of an old Bon Jovi song, High On You was one of Survivor’s most popular hits in the 80s. Today, you can hear it being played on XM’s 80s channel, or at a corny 80’s theme party. Still, it’s fun to listen to every now and then.
Survivor – The Search Is Over
I imagine this song was probably playing at proms around the country in the early 80s. If you’re making your move on a MILF, throw this on in the background and take her back to her younger years. You’re welcome!
