It’s Time To Celebrate People, Because Red Lobster’s Lobsterfest Is Back!
A few weeks ago, my wife and I were watching TV when a commercial for Lobsterfest came on. Her mouth was watering as they panned across all of those succulent lobster dishes, and she immediately decided that she wanted to go to Red Lobster for her birthday.

A few weeks ago, my wife and I were watching TV when a commercial for Lobsterfest came on. Her mouth was watering as they panned across all of those succulent lobster dishes, and she immediately decided that she wanted to go to Red Lobster for her birthday.
Red Lobster is one of my favorite restaurants, and over the years we’ve celebrated many special occasions here (my college graduation, my wife’s first job, getting a raise at work, etc). The food is always great here, and we couldn’t wait to try out some of their new, limited-time Lobsterfest dishes.
This past weekend, we got all dressed up for our big night out and headed over to our local Red Lobster in Cherry Hill, NJ. The restaurant was PACKED (clearly those commercials got other people hungry for lobster too), but we managed to get seated without too much of a wait. Our waitress Allie was a total rock star, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience!
The hardest part was deciding on which dishes to get, as the Lobster Mix and Match, Lobsterfest Surf & Turf, and Lobster Lover’s Dream all sounded amazing. While we pondered over which dishes to order, we decides to get some drinks. I ordered the new Island Lobster Punch, a blend of rum and elderflower liqueur with strawberry and tropical fruit juices topped off with a splash of sour mix. My wife doesn’t really drink, but she tried a few sips of my drink and really liked it.
As you can see in the photo below, the new Lobsterfest drinks come in these collectible Coastal glassware (available only for a limited time) that you can take home with you. I love the lobster drawing on the glass, and anytime I pick it up, I’ll be reminded of our special birthday celebration.
For our entrees, I decided to go with the Lobster Lover’s Dream, which comes with a succulent, roasted rock lobster tail, a sweet, steamed split Maine lobster tail, and creamy lobster-and-shrimp linguini Alfredo. My wife went with the Lobsterfest Surf & Turf, which comes with a split Maine lobster tail baked with Red Lobster’s signature seafood stuffing AND wood-grilled sirloin topped with shrimp in a lobster cream sauce.
The Lobster Lover’s Dream was perfect for me, as it gave me the chance to try two different types of lobster tails prepared in two different ways. Both lobster tails were delicious in their own right (I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite), and the creamy lobster-and-shrimp linguini Alfredo was so rich and decadent.. I ate so much, I thought they were going to have to roll me out afterwards!
My wife’s dish was pretty great as well, offers a flavorful combination of lobster, steak and shrimp on a single plate. Her steak was perfectly cooked, and the lobster cream sauce and shrimp really took it up a notch. She let me sneak in a few bites of the steak, and I really enjoyed it. So much so that I might have to order this on our next visit.
As for the lobster tail, it was cooked to perfection, and she devoured that in no time flat.
When our waitress came back and asked us if we saved room for dessert, we both look at each other with a knowing smile. Because despite how stuffed we were, we weren’t leaving without trying the Bananas Foster Cheesecake. And I’m so glad that we ordered it.
Two slices of rich caramel cheesecake topped with sliced bananas and crunchy candied pecans, served with vanilla ice cream that’s topped with warm spiced-rum caramel sauce. It’s as amazing as it sounds, and it was the perfect way to end our birthday celebration!
Lobsterfest will only be around for limited time, so if you’ve been thinking about getting your lobster on, head down to Red Lobster and get ready for a delicious lobster feast. And when you go, make sure to share your own #lobsterworthy celebration on social media!
