Attention whisky enthusiasts: The Glendronach, a cornerstone of Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky tradition, has just revealed an exciting new collection for connoisseurs to savor.

Named The Master’s Anthology, this new range of whiskies celebrates The Glendronach’s nearly 200-year legacy of crafting rich, sherry-cask-matured single malts.

Curated by none other than The Glendronach’s acclaimed Master Blender, Rachel Barrie, this anthology features three unique non-age-statement single malts. Each release offers a distinct lens into the distillery’s mastery of sherry cask maturation.

A Trio of Exceptional Single Malts

The Master’s Anthology includes three expressions, each designed to highlight a different dimension of The Glendronach’s artistry:

• Ode to The Valley: A fruit-forward whisky matured in port and sherry casks. This expression bursts with floral nectar and summer berry notes, delivering a light and vibrant flavor profile.
• Ode to The Embers: A rare peated offering that pairs smoky peat with spiced richness, thanks to its aging in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks.
• Ode to The Dark: The richest of the three, featuring deep, indulgent notes of chocolate, black cherry, and dates, matured exclusively in Pedro Ximénez casks.

According to Rachel Barrie, this collection is not just a testament to The Glendronach’s sherry-cask expertise—it’s a full-bodied story of the distillery’s heritage.

“The Master’s Anthology is a tribute to the art of sherry cask maturation, reflecting the exceptional taste and deep character that have become synonymous with The Glendronach over almost 200 years. This collection is a journey into the heart of our distillery, where time-honored traditions and natural influences shape every drop of our whisky,” Barrie explained.

What makes this release truly special is the dedication and skill behind it. Barrie, who brings more than three decades of whisky-making expertise to the table, describes each bottling as a “composition” that amplifies distinct notes while maintaining the distillery’s signature harmony.

“Ode to the Valley sings of an abundance of ripe fruit—it is the landscape of The Glendronach Distillery in full glory, while Ode to the Embers cloaks warm and rich spice in smoldering wisps of smoke, speaking of the days of old in the Valley of Forgue. Ode to the Dark enrobes velvet chocolate over dark plum and black cherry, caramelized dates and coffee, to bask The Glendronach in rich splendor. This anthology embodies the essence of The Glendronach and tells a story of our history, our heart and our dedication,” she elaborates.

The Master’s Anthology will first launch in the UK and Germany this December, with a broader international release planned for early 2025.
