The Cast Of Seinfeld: Where Are They Now?

Seinfeld

Seinfeld was one of the world’s biggest shows during the late 80s and into the 1990s, making stars out of the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards. But where are they now?

The return of Seinfeld to Netflix over the last 12 months, albeit reruns of the old seasons, has garnered huge interest in the four friends again, with the hilarity of the Soup Nazi, puffy shirt and the contest reaching a new generation of fans. But plenty are also asking the question, where are they now?

Well, while a number of the stars are still in the spotlight, we did a bit of digging to see what exactly Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer are up to today…

Jerry Seinfeld

Following the end of Seinfeld in 1998, the lead character and writer of the show returned to stand-up. He’s one of the world’s best and most influential stand-up comedians and in more recent times has had a number of specials on Netflix, including Jerry Seinfeld: 23 Hours to Kill. The show earned rave reviews and proved that even after all these years he’s still at the top of his game.

Of course, his baby these days is undoubtedly Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, a huge hit in which many of his fellow Seinfeld castmates have appeared. It’s a relaxed interview-style show which is exactly what the name suggests, Jerry getting talking to different comedians, in cars while getting coffee.

Jason Alexander

Thankfully, Jason Alexander’s life hasn’t quite panned out the same way as George Costanza’s, with Alexander going on to great success following the end of Seinfeld. He’s appeared on Broadway a number of times, even picking up a Tony for Best Actor in a Musical, although that was while still in Seinfeld.

Interestingly, Alexander has also turned his hand to gambling in more recent years. With the rise of online casino games like 777 blackjack and roulette he’s one of a host of celebrities that enjoy a spin of the virtual reels, but his standout success has come in poker, where he has picked up some significant winnings in competition, including The King’s Celebrity Poker Challenge in 2020 which helped raise $125,000 for charity.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has gone from strength-to-strength since the end of Seinfeld. She’s appeared in shows such as The New Adventures of Old Christine on CBS as well as a cameo role in Curb Your Enthusiasm alongside the other Seinfeld stars.

However, it’s her work in Veep which really took the actress to new heights. Starring as the lead character Selina Meyer, the HBO show ran for seven seasons in which she won six Emmys, making her the only female in history to win Emmys for three different comedy shows.

It’s not all been plane sailing though. Louis-Dreyfus revealed in 2017 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. During her treatment she continued to work, and thankfully in 2018 she revealed that she was now in remission and cancer free.

Michael Richards

For many, Kramer made Seinfeld what it was. The wacky neighbor always brought laughs thanks to his very physical style of comedy. Of the cast of Seinfeld, he’s the actor that has perhaps been the least busy, launching The Michael Richards Show in 2000, although that only lasted for one season.

He returned to stand-up for a significant period following the end of the show, while he’s also had a number of cameo roles, including in Bee Movie, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
