Review: Cygnett UrbanShield Carbon Fiber Case for iPhone 5

Cygnett, an Australian case designer, recently sent us a couple of their new iPhone 5 cases to check out. I was instantly drawn to the Cygnett UrbanShield Carbon Fiber Case, which has genuine carbon fiber!

The UrbanShield is precision-machined, slim and high performance, protecting your iPhone 5 against scratches and allowing access to all controls. The inside of the case is lined with a soft touch material that won’t scratch the delicate iPhone exterior.

I really love this case. It’s ULTRA slim, and the rubber-finish corners make the phone easy to grip. The carbon fiber looks amazing in person, and it definitely stands out in a sea of iPhones.

My only concern with the case is that the top and bottom of your phone is pretty exposed, due to the cut-out design of the case. It’s great in one respect because it doesn’t inhibit your usage of the buttons, headphone jack, and dock connector. But on the flip side, it leaves those areas unprotected. Overall, I’m really impressed with the fit and finish of the case. If you’re looking for a stylish case that won’t add significant bulk to your iPhone, then look no further than the UrbanShield.
