Project Imaginat10n – A Photography-Inspired Film Festival

Ron Howard has partnered with Canon to oversee Project Imaginat10n, the first photography-inspired film festival in history.

Photographers were invited to submit their images, which were then considered to have short films based on them. These films were directed by high-profile celebrities who aren’t established directors, including Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx, Biz Stone (co-founder of Twitter), Georgina Chapman (designer and co-founder of Marchesa), and James Murphy (formerly of LCD SOUNDSYSTEM).

After receiving tens of thousands of submissions, 91 winning photos were announced. Then, the five celebrity directors and five film contest winners each chose 10 photographs, one from each theme, to inspire their films. This just goes to show you that everyone is an artist, and Canon is empowering consumers to bring out their inner artist enabling people to create, no matter what level of skill they possess in photography or filmmaking.
