New Video Game Releases : 01/03/12 (Fitness Edition)
I used to do a weekly Video Game post for Guys Gab, but the past 6 weeks have been void of any notable releases. And unfortunately this week is no better!
But since so many people make New Years Resolutions claiming to get in shape, I thought it’d be fitting to highlight some of the fitness titles available for the consoles. As a former Wii Fit fanatic, I can tell you that today’s fitness options are pretty amazing, and you don’t need to go join a gym to get a good workout!
Cyberbike Cycling Sports is the first video game to utilize the Cyberbike Magnetic Edition, an original stationary bike peripheral designed exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. The game and accessory, which utilizes a tension-controlled knob with magnetic resistance, is suitable for all fitness levels. The Cyberbike allows the entire family to get fit while having fun.
The Cyberbike is available for the Wii.
Kinect Sensor: You are the controller with Kinect for Xbox 360! Immerse yourself in full-body gameplay or watch HD movies and sports on Xbox LIVE in a whole new way. Play, pause, or rewind the action with a wave of your hand.
For a limited time, when you purchase the Kinect Sensor you’ll also get Fruit Ninja Kinect, The Gunstringer, and Kinect Adventures, so you can experience gaming like never before. A fully immersive experience with nothing between you and the game, now you can serve up justice one bullet at a time with The Gunstringer and join the epic battle against the world’s most delicious produce in Fruit Ninja Kinect.
The Kinect Sensor is available for the Xbox 360.
Here are some great titles to help get your sweat on.. Keep up with these titles on a regular basis, and you’ll be sure to achieve your fitness goals:
Zumba Fitness – Available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii
UFC Personal Trainer – Available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii
Just Dance 3 – Available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii
Jillian Michaels Fitness Adventure – Available for the Xbox 360
Gold’s Gym Dance Workout – Available for the Nintendo Wii
Good luck with your fitness goals for 2012!

I’ve been using Your Shape 2012 for the XBox Kinect lately and it is a pretty good workout title. It was recently on sale for $29.99 and well worth it.

Kinect will leave you sweaty too. Like most things, you get what you put in.

Yeah, I wanna get Kinect for my Xbox, but I’d have to rearrange some furniture to make it work. That’s too much work, so for now I’ll just get my sweat on with Wii Boxing. 🙂

Wii Fit was fun for about two months, now it just sits in its box on a shelf in my basement. The Cyberbike Magnetic Edition looks neat, but I think I’ll refrain from that purchase.
