NBA Playoff And Championship Predictions
With the 2020-21 season wrapped up and the first round of the playoffs making it to the books, it is time to think about the NVA playoffs and finals. The playoffs have already begun, and fans are all excited about all the great teams playing for a chance to head to the finals and win the title of the NBA champions.
In such a scenario, families, sports fans, and gamblers are all making their NBA playoff predictions. After all, this is what a playoff season exactly is.
When it comes to the playoff this season, there are a lot of unanswered questions. For instance, will the Lakers take home the title again? Or, will luck favor the super team of the Brooklyn Nets?
From what we can see, the drama and suspense are growing intense, and we cannot wait. Major betting sites in Illinois have the odds for the NBA 2021 playoff, and here is our take on some of the teams who will play in the tournament and fight head-to-head.
Eastern Conference Predictions
Though the trade for Jrue Holiday was a massive move for Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo signing the supermax contract extension was even more crucial. In order to cement his legacy, Antetokounmpo will require nothing less than a championship. He will also have to undergo the reigning East champion Miami Heat in Round 1.
Furthermore, Brooklyn made an excellent trade for James Harden. They will be entering the playoffs as the No.2 seed. Thanks to Harden’s MVP-caliber play, Kyrie Irving couldn’t wreck the team with his antics. The Nets were able to thrive without Kevin Durant and The Beard for long stretches. Experts believe Brooklyn can defeat Boston with ease, especially since the Celtics are without Jaylen Brown.
Western Conference Predictions
Original picks: 1) Lakers; 2) Clippers; 3) Mavericks; 4) Nuggets; 5) Warriors; 6) Suns; 7) Pelicans; 8) Jazz
The Lakers couldn’t quite defend their conference title in the regular season. It was mainly the injuries that Anthony Davis and LeBron James sustained that disrupted the hopes of squaring off with the Phoenix Suns proved.
While Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic started slow, they finally got off the mat. Doncic is currently scoring at the most efficient rate of his young NBA career, and Dallas has chosen the slack on defense, which initiated a first-round rematch with the Clippers that showed Doncic requires more help.
When it comes to the Utah Jazz, they have been the best team all season. The Suns are also among the West’s elite who have amazed all the viewers with their rapid ascent. The Portland Trail Blazers is another noteworthy team with star power and resilience. They managed to stay afloat even when CJ McCollum missed the extended time. What’s more, he and Damian Lillard form an elite backcourt.
Unfortunately, their downfall against Denver is giving rise to massive changes, starting with the resigning of head coach Terry Stotts.
NBA Finals Matchup and Champion
Experts predict that the best duel the NBA could hope for at this point is between the Suns and the Lakers. After all, think about it. Chris Paul will get a shot at the championship against all odds. That too with a young team. On the other hand, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks could have battled back from a 2-0 deficit against Brooklyn, KO’d an upstart Hawks team and finally, get out of the East.
When it comes to Phoenix, they are a relatively young team that has exceeded all reasonable expectations. Nevertheless, the booker’s rise to true superstar status in these playoffs shouldn’t be discounted. He will be the primary focus of Milwaukee’s lockdown defender Jrue Holiday.
Meanwhile, Khris Middleton and Giannis will face a few dynamic wing defenders in the Suns’ Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder. However, when it comes to the NBA Finals matchup, the deciding factor might be how well CP3 and Phoenix big man Deandre Ayton fare. Paul should prepare himself for the task and accept the biggest stage he has ever been on. However, Ayton can give the Suns a severe edge in the frontcourt if he can deliver brilliant results.
The Suns have shown utmost chemistry throughout the postseason. They are also collectively a better defensive squad and have excellent proficiency when it comes to outside shooting. So, it looks like Phoenix is the most likely to hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
