Movie Review & Contest For ’21 and Over’

I attended an advanced screening of 21 and Over last week, and as a huge fan of the college comedy genre, I was pretty psyched. But the bar was set high. How would it stack up against similar movies like Old School, Van Wilder, Road Trip, American Pie, Project X, and others?

From the writers of ‘The Hangover’ comes a comedy 21 years in the making.

In 21 and Over, straight-laced college student Jeff Chang has always done what’s expected of him. But when his two best friends surprise him with a visit for his 21st birthday, he decides to do the unexpected for a change, even though his critical medical school interview is early the next morning. What was supposed to be one beer becomes one night of chaos, over indulgence and utter debauchery in this outrageous comedy.

Overall, I thought 21 and Over really delivered, giving the audience lots of laughs throughout the movie. The writers found a way to take an age-old story and breathe some new life into it.

There are some really funny scenes in the movie (Chang being ordered to “get down” from the car, the spirit rally, the Smart car chase), which really elevated this movie from ho-hum to LOL. If you liked The Hangover, then you’re really going to enjoy this movie.

Will this be a cult classic that you’ll watch over and over again? Probably not. But you’re sure to laugh your ass off at the hysterical situations these three friends get themselves into!
