MANSCAPED Dome Shaver Plus Review: Effortless Grooming Awaits

While MANSCAPED is probably best known for manscaping products like The Lawnmower 5.0 Ultra, they actually offer a full suite of men’s grooming products, including beard trimmers, face shavers and head shavers like The Dome Shaver Pro that we reviewed back in the summer.

Now we’re back to test out their latest head shaver, the MANSCAPED Dome Shaver Plus. As the name suggests, this is their next step down in the lineup (Plus -> Pro), but it still delivers a fast and easy way to keep your head looking sharp and smooth, albeit at a slightly lower price point thanks to a few minor concessions that’ll explain in more detail shortly.

Both shavers are equipped with MANSCAPED’s FlexAdjust technology, designed to help keep each blade in close contact with the scalp to ensure a close, even shave, and leaving no hairs behind. Coupled with the ultra-thin blade guards and flexible neck, these shavers work to take your head from stubbly to stunning in record time.

As you can see in the photos, the design is similar to what you find on many electric shavers, but this bad boy is specifically designed for your head. Simply hold the Dome Shaver Plus by the handle or palm the blade pad with your hand, and gently glide it across your head, making straight and circular motions until you’ve covered the desired area. Needless to say, The Dome Shaver Plus isn’t exactly lacking in features. So how does it differ from The Dome Shaver Pro, and which one should you go with?

The main differences are that The Dome Shaver Plus has 4 blade heads (the Pro has 5 blade heads), it has an 8,000 RPM motor (the Pro has a 9,500 RPM motor), and it has 60 minutes of runtime (the Pro has 90 minutes of runtime).

Furthermore, The Dome Shaver Plus doesn’t come with a travel lock (a handy feature which protects your head shaver from accidentally turning on while it’s in your suitcase or carry-on, but not a big deal if you don’t plan on traveling with it), it doesn’t come with a travel case (not needed if you’re not traveling with it), and it doesn’t support wireless charging.

Personally, I don’t see these as major concessions, the only real downside being that it might take an extra few minutes to shave your head given the one less blade head and the slightly slower motor. On the flip side, you’re saving $40, and you’re still walking out of the house with an exceptionally smooth dome. Ultimately, the choice is yours.
