Looking Back On The Cooper Tire Ride-N-Drive Event
This post brought to you by Cooper Tires. All opinions are 100% mine.
Back in June, Cooper Tire invited us out to their 1000-acre test facility in Pearsall TX for their annual Ride-N-Drive event. Hmm, the opportunity to drive a bunch of cars at a world-class test track? Sign me up!
The event Cooper Tire put together was top-notch. We spent the first day at the track testing out the Cooper Tire Zeon RS3-S and RS3-A high performance tires, which really made me look at high performance tires in a whole new light. Most performance tires I've used in the past provided great handling in ideal situations, but they got downright scary when the weather turns bad. Not so with the Zeon RS3's, which provided an unbelievable amount of grip on the wet track.
I was so impressed with the way that the RS3-A's handled that I got a set for my own car. I've had them for about two months now, and I can't say enough great things about them. When I hear people talking about tires, I always tell them about the Cooper Zeons. If you missed my Cooper Zeon RS3-A Review, be sure to check it out.
The second day at the Cooper Tire was spent testing out the Cooper Tire Discoverer A/T3 and S/TMaxx off-road tires. Once again, we started with some laps on the wet track, where we made these giant Tahoes dance around the course like it was nothing. Really impressive, especially considering that these were 6000lbs 2WD Tahoes.
But the real fun started that afternoon, when we headed out to Cooper's off-road courses. Mud pits, wet hill climbs, rock garden, a rock quarry and trail ride, and even a boulder crawl. No matter what was thrown at the A/T3's and S/TMAXX's, they performed like champs. If I had a truck to go off-roading in, there's no question that I'd be running a set of Discoverer tires!
