Jeep’s Blacked-Out Grand Cherokee Is Pretty Sick!

Published

on

Jeep recently rolled out a new trim package for the Grand Cherokee, and they’re running a contest on the Internet to give it a name. The three names that made it to the finals are Obsidian, Midnight, and Altitude.

Personally, I don’t find any of them very creative.. If I had my way, I’d team up with George Lucas, throw in some Star Wars sound effects, and call it the “Vader Edition”. 😀

The package starts with the four-wheel-drive Grand Cherokee Laredo X package, then adds blacked-out trim, a mesh grille and 20-inch aluminum wheels painted in gloss black.

As you can see from the pictures, it’s a pretty mean looking ride. But if I were Jeep, I’d take it a few steps further. Tint the tail lights, black out the chrome around the windows, and make the logos, calipers, and lug nuts gunmetal.

From the looks of the Name My Ride website, the Jeep will come in at least 3 colors (if not more). If I were them, I’d stick with two color choices – Black and White.

So what do you think?

I think I just found the number one reason for trading in my car.

Looks neat, but I still wouldn’t want to own one. I’m not a Jeep or SUV type of person.
