Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe Introduced At LA Auto Show
The 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show had a number of high-profile reveals, but the Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe stole the show. Taking a cue from Porsche’s playbook, Jaguar took their F-TYPE Convertible and gave it a fixed top, embodying the design of the C-X16 concept car that debuted back in 2011.
The all-aluminium F-TYPE Coupe, the most dynamically capable, performance-focused sports car Jaguar has ever produced, will be available in three versions: F-TYPE, F-TYPE S and the F-TYPE R.
The range-topping F-TYPE R Coupe will be powered by Jaguar’s 5.0L supercharged V8 engine that puts out 550HP, delivering acceleration to 60mph in 4.0 seconds, and a top speed of 186mph. The F-TYPE S Coupe models will be powered by Jaguar’s 3.0L V6 supercharged engine that puts out 380HP, with a 0-60mph in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 171mph. The F-TYPE Coupe will be powered by Jaguar’s 3.0L V6 supercharged engine that puts out 340HP, sprinting from 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds on it’s way to a top speed of 161mph.

While I wasn’t a huge fan of the rear design of the Jaguar F-TYPE Convertible (especially those slanted tail lights), I absolutely LOVE how the car looks in coupe form. The F-TYPE Coupe blew away the press in L.A., so it should be interesting to see how the car is received by the general public.
The base F-TYPE Coupe starts at $65,000, while the top-of-the-line F-TYPE R Coupe starts at $99,000. The car will start hitting dealerships in spring 2014.
