Ford Bronco Raptor Off-Roadeo

Ford’s Raptor line of vehicles (F-150, Bronco and Ranger) are all amazing high-speed off-road vehicles, with suspension setups that allow you to crawl over huge boulders and get sweet air, and of course plenty of horsepower and torque on tap.

In the case of the Bronco Raptor, we’re talking 418 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. And the Ranger Raptor isn’t far behind, with 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty of power, especially for an off-road vehicle, right? Heck, when I did the Ford Bronco Raptor Off-Roadeo, the last thing I was thinking was “Gee, this could really use more power!”

But, if you’re one of those people who wants even more power, Ford has got you covered, with a Ford Performance software calibration update that delivers significant low-end torque and horsepower improvements to the 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine in the Ranger Raptor and Bronco Raptor, boosting output to a whopping 455 horsepower and 536 pound-feet of torque.

According to Ford Performance, the software upgrade delivers improved throttle response and an optimized shift schedule, resulting in a more powerful driving experience.

Even more amazing is the price – It’s only $825, and the calibration can be purchased online (Bronco Raptor Calibration, Ranger Raptor Calibration) to be installed at a local dealer. And not to worry, as it’s covered by the vehicle’s three-year, 36,000-mile Ford Performance parts warranty.

Why Ford didn’t just deliver the cars with this much power in the first place is unclear, but I’m guessing that most Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor owners will be taking advantage of this deal, as it should deliver a significant boost in driving enjoyment for very little money.
