The current generation of kids haven’t had a reason to get excited about space, but Felix Baumgartner changed all of that yesterday!

After flying to an altitude of 128,100 feet in a helium-filled balloon, Felix Baumgartner completed a record breaking jump for the ages from the edge of space. Felix reached a maximum of speed of 833mph through the near vacuum of the stratosphere before being slowed by the atmosphere later during his 4:20 minute long freefall.

As you can see from Felix Baumgartner’s helmet cam footage, things got CRAZY when he breaks into a spin and starts to lose control while breaking the speed of sound at over 700 MPH!

More than 7.1 million people tuned in to watch the jump live on YouTube, setting an Internet video record.
