Toyota’s approach to manufacturing, the Toyota Production System, is world-renowned. The philosophy and principles behind the system have been taught in business schools, and adapted to industries that extend well beyond auto manufacturing. However, to those outside of the business or manufacturing world, this type of expertise can be difficult to grasp and connect with.

To bring further relevance and reach to this “how it’s made” conversation, Toyota created a series of 45 GIFs that showcase different elements of building a car from start to finish, and each of these GIFs is associated with an industrial sound (eg. engine starting, car door closing, metal clanking, etc.) captured from an actual Toyota Corolla plant.

And now through an interactive microsite, you can string together the sounds to create a symphony of GIFs, a “Gifony” if you will. In the video below, you can see what Internet DJ SoNevable was able to create using the same exact raw industrial sights and sounds you get in Gifony.

Pretty wild, right? If you’re ready to give it a shot for yourself, head over to gifony.com to see the precision of this process and create your own original track. If you think you’ve created a masterpiece, share your Gifony remix on social media using #GifonyRemix, and make sure you tag @GuysGab so we can check it out!

And remember, to build something well, all parts must perform in sync and stick to rhythm. That’s the beauty of process – it never misses a beat.
