Citizen Releases Limited-Edition Nissan Fairlady Z Watch
With the release of the all-new 2023 Nissan Z right around the corner, the folks at Citizen have come out with a limited-edition watch that pays tribute to the iconic Nissan Fairlady Z, one of Japan’s best-known sports cars.
As you can see, two limited-edition models are being offered, one with Seiran Blue accents and a matte black center, the other with Ikazuchi Yellow accents and the same yellow dot design used on the seats of the new Z. Only 1,700 unnumbered pieces of each watch will be offered, at a very reasonable and accessible price of $2,495.
The striking Seiran Blue dial and accents stand in bold contrast to the matte black center of the dial that evokes the sense of smooth new asphalt on a highway. The black of the dial is accented by silver hands and indexes to create a cool, understated look. A red second hand inspired by the redline on a tachometer, a “Z” mark on the crown, and a NISSAN logo on the case back complete the watch’s sleek, contemporary design. Featuring light-powered Eco-Drive Atomic Timekeeping functionality, this watch self-adjusts to time or calendar when traveling overseas by receiving local time signals in four different regions.
Meanwhile, the Ikazuchi Yellow model is supposed to evoke a thunderbolt (or ikazuchi) – with yellow accents and yellow dot design used on the seats of the latest Z prototype that everyone saw last year. A red second hand inspired by the redline on a tachometer, a “Z” mark on the crown, and the striking contrast of the all-black case, band, dial, hands, and indexes complete the watch’s sleek design and contemporary, sporty look.
Both 42mm watches are big on features, with 3-hands, atomic timekeeping, a chronograph, date, Eco-Drive, luminous hands/markers, perpetual calendar, power reserve indicator, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and a tachymeter.
Needless to say, if you’re a Z lover and/or have a new one on order, you’ll definitely want to grab one of these to compliment your ride before they’re gone!
