The Official Trailer For ‘Gladiator II’ Looks Freaking Epic!

I’m pretty sure nobody had a Gladiator sequel on their bingo cards, but after watching the epic trailer for it, I’m definitely all for it!

Here’s what we know about the movie so far:

From legendary director Ridley Scott, Gladiator II continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome.

Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus (Russell Crowe) at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist.

With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.

The movie stars Paul Mescal as Lucius Verus, Pedro Pascal as Marcus Acacius, Connie Nielsen as Lucilla, Denzel Washington as Macrinus, Fred Hechinger as Emperor Caracalla, and Joseph Quinn as Emperor Geta.

Sadly, Russell Crowe does not reprise his role in the sequel, which honestly makes sense given the original film’s ending. Still, a dream sequence or something wouldn’t have killed them.
