BMW Presents The BMW Concept 4 Series Coupe
BMW is changing the way it denotes coupes and convertibles, by moving them up one digit. Like we’ve seen with the 5 Series/6 Series models, BMW will be retiring the “3 Series coupe” nameplate, replacing it with the BMW 4 Series coupe, or simply the 4 Series.
At first glance, the 4 Series coupe looks like a mildly restyled 3 Series coupe. But dig deeper, and you’ll see that the 4 Series concept rides on a two-inch longer wheelbase, adds 1.7 inches of width, and is just over half an inch shorter in height.
The body looks very sculpted and sleek, and there are plenty of design elements from the 6 Series. The full-LED headlamps and aggressive lower fascia certainly grabs your attention. The most dramatic changes are seen in the rear, which looks agressive and sexy. But from certain angles, the 4 Series shares more than a passing resemblance to the Audi A5/S5.
The 4 Series Concept makes it’s debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January, and we expect to see the 4 Series hitting dealerships shortly thereafter.
