The John Wick franchise is expanding with Ballerina, a high-octane spin-off starring Ana de Armas as a ruthless assassin out for vengeance. The latest trailer just dropped, giving fans a thrilling first look at the action-packed journey set to hit theaters on June 6. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming blockbuster.

A New Assassin Takes Center Stage

Ana de Armas steps into the lead role as Rooney, a trained killer seeking justice for her family. First introduced in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the ballerinas are a deadly breed of assassins trained by The Director (Anjelica Huston). Rooney’s journey, filled with brutal action and personal stakes, adds another layer to the John Wick saga.

In the trailer, we see Rooney is determined to find those responsible for her family’s murder. “They trained me to be an assassin. I just want to know who killed my family,” she says, setting the stage for a relentless mission of revenge.

A Star-Studded Cast and Familiar Faces

Beyond Ana de Armas, Ballerina boasts an incredible supporting cast, including John Wick veterans. Keanu Reeves returns as the legendary hitman himself, and Ian McShane reprises his role as Winston, the enigmatic manager of The Continental. Lance Reddick also makes a final appearance as Charon, marking one of his last performances before his passing.

Additionally, Norman Reedus joins the mix, adding a new layer of mystery to the John Wick universe. “There’s a new player in town, and he’s got his own rules,” Reedus’ character teases in the trailer.

Non-Stop Action and Signature John Wick-Style Combat

Fans of the franchise can expect the same pulse-pounding, meticulously choreographed action sequences that have become synonymous with John Wick. The trailer is packed with intense gun battles, close-quarters combat, and explosive set pieces. Rooney’s skills as a ballerina-trained assassin are on full display, blending elegance and lethality in a way that only the John Wick universe can deliver.

Director Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) helms the project, ensuring a mix of stylish cinematography and relentless action. “The action in this movie is on another level,” Wiseman says. “Ana trained for months, and you’re going to see some of the most intense fight scenes ever put to screen.”

Expanding the John Wick Universe

With Ballerina, the John Wick universe continues to expand, offering a deeper look into the world of assassins, their rules, and the deadly alliances that shape their lives. As the first official spin-off in the franchise, this film is expected to open doors for future projects exploring different aspects of the assassin underworld.

Fans won’t have to wait much longer—Ballerina hits theaters on June 6. If the trailer is any indication, this will be another action-packed ride that no John Wick fan will want to miss.
