Apple iPhone 16 Event -It's Glowtime

Apple just announced that it’ll be holding a press event at its headquarters in Cupertino, CA on Monday, September 9 at 10am PST, where the company is expected to announce their new iPhones and Apple Watch models, and possibly even more. The tagline for the event is “It’s Glowtime”, which is a reference to Apple’s new redesign of its Siri interface.

Everyone is waiting with bated breath to see what the iPhone 16 will have to offer, with plenty of rumors abound. The new phone is expected to have a slightly larger screen, a new Capture Button for photos, possibly a vertical camera layout, and an Action Button. Not to mention a better camera (48-megapixel Ultra Wide lens?), a suite of AI tools, and more. Hopefully we get better battery life/faster charging too.

Naturally, there will be a lot of talk about iOS 18 and the company’s AI initiatives (under their Apple Intelligence moniker), since AI is all the rage right now. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are the only phones to support this currently, but it’s rumored that the full iPhone 16 lineup will be able to use Apple Intelligence. If so, that’s a pretty big selling point.

Rumor has it that Apple will also launch the Apple Watch Series 10, and maybe even an Apple Watch SE3 (which could be made of plastic and therefore cheaper to make/sell). Introducing a new SE model would be a bit surprising, given that the SE2 just came out last year, but you can never tell when it comes to Apple.

Lastly, it’s expected that two new 4th-generation AirPods models will be introduced, featuring a tweaked design with better fit, improved sound quality, and an updated charging case with a USB-C port. The higher-end AirPods 4 are also said to feature active noise cancellation, and a speaker in the charging case that can play a sound for Find My location tracking.

For those of you who want to follow along on September 9th, you can stream the launch event on Apple’s website, on their YouTube channel, and in the Apple TV app.

Of course, if you miss it, we’ll be sure to have all the details for you posted on here afterwards.
