Adam Sandler Returns To The Golf Course In ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Teaser
The Legend Is Back—And He’s Bringing Friends
It’s been nearly 30 years since Adam Sandler first took his infamous slapshot swing into the world of golf, and now, the wait is finally over—Happy Gilmore 2 is officially happening!
Sandler is suiting up once again as Happy, and Netflix just dropped the first teaser for the highly anticipated sequel, which you can watch above.
Familiar Faces and Exciting New Additions
Sandler isn’t coming back alone. The sequel is reuniting original stars Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller, and Christopher McDonald, ensuring that Happy’s longtime rival Shooter McGavin is still lurking around. But the cast list doesn’t stop there—Bad Bunny is joining the film, along with Sandler’s daughters, Sadie and Sunny Sandler, and Blake Clark.
And here’s where things get even crazier—some of the world’s top golfers are making cameos! You can expect to see John Daly, Paige Spiranac, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, and Will Zalatoris taking swings in the film. Think you can outdrive them? Think again.
A Long-Awaited Return to Happy’s World
Back in September, Sandler subtly teased the sequel by posting an Easter egg featuring Happy’s iconic Bruins jersey—a nod that had fans buzzing.
While plot details are still under wraps, we do know that Happy Gilmore co-writer Tim Herlihy is back to pen the script, original director Dennis Dugan is an executive producer, and Jack Giarraputo and Robert Simonds are producing once again. The film will be directed by Kyle Newacheck (Murder Mystery), so expect plenty of laughs and over-the-top moments.
What Happened in the Original Happy Gilmore?
Need a refresher? The 1996 comedy followed Happy Gilmore’s unlikely rise in the world of pro golf as he tried to save his grandmother’s house from foreclosure. With the help of his one-handed mentor Chubbs Petersen (Carl Weathers) and a scrappy caddy (Allen Covert), Happy took on the snobbish world of golf—facing off against Shooter McGavin and even throwing punches with Bob Barker!
By the film’s end, Happy had won the Tour Championship, saved his grandmother’s home, and cemented his place as golf’s ultimate wildcard. But where has he been since then? That’s what we’re about to find out in Happy Gilmore 2.
Mark Your Calendars—Happy Gilmore 2 Drops July 25
