2016 Nissan Maxima Marks The Return Of The 4-Door Sports Car

Nissan President / CEO Carlos Ghosn just unveiled the all-new 2016 Nissan Maxima at the New York Auto Show, and needless to say, the totally redesigned, dramatically styled “4 Door Sports Car” looks like nothing else on the road today.

The 2016 Maxima was created by driving enthusiasts for driving enthusiasts, and drives like nothing in the segment. It not only resets Maxima’s iconic “4-Door Sports Car” positioning, it sets a new standard for style, performance and technology in the large sedan segment.

The Maxima’s styling including a V-Motion front end, signature boomerang lights, kick-up C-pillars and unique floating roof appearance. Inside, Maxima’s premium class-above, bespoke interior is anchored by a driver’s cockpit that rivals luxury vehicles.

The all-new Maxima features a 300HP 3.5-liter V6 and a new lighter, yet more rigid chassis that brings sports car-like acceleration and handling to the large sedan segment. The car is saddled with Nissan’s Xtronic CVT transmission, but in the Maxima it features a wider ratio range, which allows for stronger acceleration from a standing start and an all-new D-Step shifting logic that provides rapid shifts at high throttle openings.

As you’d expect from Nissan, the all-new Maxima comes with a wide range of technology and safety features to keep you and your passengers connected, entertained, and most of all safe.

The 2016 Maxima is now offered in five grade levels, and include standard NissanConnect with navigation, 8″ touch-screen display, Remote Engine Start, RearView Monitor and more.
